In Mariposa there is at least one business that all they do is trim trees near powerlines for PG&E. They can be seen all year round. They check the lines that cross my property at least once a year. PG&E seems to be trying.

Yep. In Tuolumne County we are regularly notified that trees on our property have been determined to pose a danger to power lines, and that they are going to be cut down.

Not always happy with the decision...but we have enough trees that we're not going to fight for a few right by the road.

They want to cut down the power lines?

I got the robocall on Monday that they will be coming to look at my trees in December.

I could only wish that SoCal Edison would cut trees by the power and phone lines on our property! They don't cut them down, but trim branches. They do trim to the transformer on one corner of our lot, but many wires criss cross over to our neighbors from there.

Related to the subject, the Round Fire nearby in February was caused by power lines, as was the Pole Fire, in 1995. The two fires that we had to prepare for evacuation.
