Joshua Tree National Park and the Western Science Center have partnered on an exhibit which features fossil specimens from around the area of the park during the Ice Age. From now until September 29th, visitors will be able to view approximately 30 paleontological specimens which include a camel, wolf, llama, horse, bison and mammoth. Also included are specimens of a bighorn and saber-toothed cat that were discovered on Bureau of Land Managment lands just south of the park.

The Western Science Center announcement said, “Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the Prehistoric animals that roamed the area in and around Joshua Tree National Park during the Ice Age in California. On exhibit will also be specimens from Diamond Valley Lake to collectively show the variance between species during ancient times in the state.

The Western Science Center is located in Hemet, California at 2345 Searl Parkway, 92543. Museum hours are Tuesday through Sunday 10 am to 5 pm. Ticket sales end at 4:30 pm. For more information: +1 951 791-0033 or http://www.westernsciencecenter.org.
