A construction contract will soon be awarded for the Integrated Utilities Phase 3b project. This project includes a new sewer lift station near the Ahwahnee Dorm, a new utility corridor under existing roads from The Ahwahnee to the Village, and also removal of old underground utilities from sensitive resource areas (meadows, rivers, etc.). Traffic management plans will be developed by the successful contractor. Actual construction work is scheduled to begin in October.
Allison Sierra Inc. (ASI) will begin replacing water, sewer, and power lines this week in the Lower Tecoya Housing area.
Erik Ammon Inc. continues work on an underground water line near the Ahwahnee Bridge. The bridge sidewalk will be closed during work hours.
MTM Builders is scheduled to begin site safety, security, and kiosk replacement work at the Arch Rock Entrance Station on approximately Sept 28. Expect lane closures and minimal traffic delays.
The Glacier Point Road Rehabilitation work continues with brushing, guardwall installation and subgrade repair. This work is requiring traffic control on both Glacier Point Road and Wawona Road. Pilot cars will escort traffic from both ends of the project on the hour and half hour intervals. Please be cautious of trench plates and loose gravel at culvert crossings and subgrade repair areas
The failed Yosemite Creek Campground Bridge (located off of the Tioga Rd.) is currently being demolished. Construction of a replacement bridge will follow and continue until the Tioga Road closes for the winter.
Candelaria Corporation will continue safety improvements in the Wawona Tunnel. (M Wichmann
