I've always liked that mountain.

I never paid much attention to Mt. Conness until couple of years ago hiking from May Lake to Glen Aulin and the sun was just right on it and it was so white - fantastic picture!

A couple of the guys captured this exquisite shot from the Whitney Webcam. While it is at the beginning of the day, instead of the end, I thought that the nature of the light was similar and worth sharing.

Same day as the Half Dome sunset photos and only a few hundred feet away.

Always loved Conness.

Here's an interesting one IMO.

I actually tend to like the morning better than the sunsets.
Guess the reason being is that the stellar sunsets are hit or miss.
Morning is very frequently very calm with great reflections.
(unfort. no reflection here though)

What a gorgeous picture - where is it taken from - what lake? I want to go there!

I LIKE the signature!

"Reflections" makes me think of that emerald pool pic that you took. I agree; reflections are unbeatable!

(waiting around for "incredible" sunset can also turn into a huge waste of time -- Think: firefall!!)

You got so little time to enjoy too. Right when it gets really really good ye old P&S camera says
"yo buddy, not enough light" and flashes and you get crapola.

Maybe you like this one:

(when it got REALLY red ... shakey... need to bring small tripod or use timer .. blah blah)

Great pics, Tom -- the "Twistie" on top of Mt. Clark really shows up nicely in that pic (Billy has a close-up of the "twisty" -- it is really sharp and foreboding to look at)

Tom, I really like that one of Mt Clark.

Don't remember from where it was taken. Just one of the meadows in the valley.

I keep coming back to this photo. It has tremendous appeal, in my opinion. Color, texture, balance, interest, composition, depth of field. This photo, like the Tunnel View shot of some months ago has uniquely appealing qualities to me. Thanks.

Glad I didn't jump in. Trial-n-Error Guided Hikes would have gotten it wrong again! sad
