...HEAVY SNOW POSSIBLE IN THE MOUNTAINS TUESDAY NIGHT AND
WEDNESDAY...

THE NEXT PACIFIC STORM WILL REACH THE CENTRAL CALIFORNIA INTERIOR
TUESDAY EVENING...AND CONTINUE THROUGH WEDNESDAY. SNOW LEVELS WILL
START OUT AROUND 6500 FEET TUESDAY EVENING...THEN LOWER TO AROUND
5000 FEET BY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AS THE SNOW SPREADS SOUTH DOWN
THE SOUTHERN SIERRA NEVADA AND INTO THE TEHACHAPI MOUNTAINS.

TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS COULD REACH 12 TO 18 INCHES IN THE HIGH
COUNTRY OF YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK...DECREASING TO 7 TO 12 INCHES
IN THE TULARE COUNTY MOUNTAINS...AND UP TO 5 INCHES IN THE
TEHACHAPI MOUNTAINS.

SNOW WILL AFFECT TRAVEL ON HIGHWAY 178 THROUGH THE WALKER
PASS...BUT IS NOT EXPECTED ON EITHER THE GRAPEVINE OR TEHACHAPI
PASS.

PEOPLE PLANNING TRAVEL INTO OR THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS TUESDAY OR
WEDNESDAY SHOULD MONITOR FORECASTS AND STATEMENTS FROM THE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE...AND CHECK CONDITIONS BEFORE DEPARTING
AND WHILE ENROUTE.

* TIMING: A PACIFIC STORM WILL MOVE OVER THE SOUTHERN SIERRA
NEVADA TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON WITH THE
HEAVIEST SNOW OCCURRING TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY
MORNING.

* MAIN IMPACT: TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS UP TO 2 FEET ARE
POSSIBLE OVER THE SIERRA NEVADA FROM YOSEMITE TO KINGS CANYON
WITH AMOUNTS UP TO A FOOT POSSIBLE OVER TULARE COUNTY. ON
TUESDAY AFTERNOON SNOW LEVELS WILL BE BETWEEN 5500 AND 6500
FEET THEN FALL TO AROUND 4500 FEET TUESDAY NIGHT INTO
WEDNESDAY THROUGHOUT THE SOUTHERN SIERRA NEVADA.

* OTHER IMPACTS: TRAVEL MAY BE HAMPERED ABOVE 6000 FEET
ESPECIALLY IN AND NEAR YOSEMITE PARK...HUNTINGTON LAKE...
WISHON...KINGS CANYON PARK...AND SEQUOIA PARK. MOTORISTS
SHOULD CARRY CHAINS IF TRAVELING THROUGH THE SIERRA NEVADA.

EXPECTED THROUGH MID MORNING...TAPERING OFF TO SHOWERS BY NOON.
