Chick-on probably has more to say but this is the picture I took.

Looks like someone is quite attached to Chick-on.

If that is a Kay-One-Double-You-One, it's a hell of a long way from home.

Chick-on probably has more to say but this is the picture I took.

It appears that the Goat News photographer has gotten it wrong.
From the picture, it is obvious that Chick-on is freaking out (probably from having fallen from his pack animal and is consequently panicking because he doesn't know the way home) while Baby Beak is calmly pointing out the proper route.

[Aside to wagga: note nostrils near end of beak; he was undoubtedly up there delivering winter provisions to his friends at the marmot colony and reminding them to set their clocks forward one hour.]

Chicky said that little Beaky's there nose just kept growing and growing
with the stories he kept telling him. He said "get this loony bird away from me, he's kiwiiazy!"

He's been working out.
The Kalifornia Kiwi Kontingent has a biweekly cross-country ski run delivering pizzas from the Whoa Nellie Deli to the rangers and the marmots up in the high country. (Rumor has it that the marmots' favorite toppings are wild asparagus, mushrooms, and chicken.)
