In the backcountry of Yosemite National Park at 8,600-foot Tuolumne Meadows, the snowpack depth is 64 inches, but spring is in the air. Cross-country skiing looks to be sensational in the next month. Winter wilderness ranger Kathi Younger, who has been living here since last fall -- most of it with no electricity or telephone -- managed to get a report out this week. It is like a glimpse into a secret winter world that few can imagine.

(I'd prob. just stop at Tenaya Lake anyway... the hike from Tenaya to TM is not that exciting)

Too many other things on the plate... gotta get the bird up Diving Board (he missed out last yr).

What do these conditions suggest as far as when things will open up? Late, early, or normal?

Get your priorities straight,
March 19 - Poultry Day - is much more imminent.
