...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM SUNDAY TO NOON PDT
MONDAY ABOVE 5000 FEET...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HANFORD HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WARNING ABOVE 5000 FEET FOR HEAVY SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS...WHICH IS
IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM SUNDAY TO NOON PDT MONDAY FOR THE HIGHER
ELEVATIONS OF THE SOUTHERN SIERRA NEVADA. THE WINTER STORM WATCH
IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: A STORM TOTAL OF UP TO 24 INCHES OF NEW
SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE.

* TIMING: SNOW WILL DEVELOP LATE SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND SPREAD
QUICKLY SOUTH DURING THE EVENING. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL FALL
DURING THE NIGHT...TAPERING OFF BY MID DAY MONDAY. A FEW
RESIDUAL SNOW SHOWERS WILL BE POSSIBLE MONDAY AFTERNOON.

* LOCATIONS INCLUDE: TUOLUMNE MEADOWS AND MARIPOSA GROVE IN
YOSEMITE PARK...GIANT FOREST AND LODGEPOLE IN SEQUOIA
PARK...SHAVER LAKE...HUNTINGTON LAKE...WISHON...CAMP NELSON.

* WINDS: SOUTHWEST WINDS UP TO 45 MPH MAY CAUSE AREAS OF BLOWING
AND DRIFTING SNOW OVER HIGHER ELEVATIONS.

* IMPACTS: ROADS ABOVE 5000 FEET WILL BECOME HAZARDOUS AT
TIMES. BE PREPARED FOR WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS.
