MARIPOSA MADERA AND FRESNO COUNTY FOOTHILLS-
TULARE COUNTY FOOTHILLS-KERN COUNTY MOUNTAINS-
SIERRA NEVADA FROM YOSEMITE TO KINGS CANYON-
TULARE COUNTY MOUNTAINS-INDIAN WELLS VALLEY-
SOUTHEASTERN KERN COUNTY DESERT-

...MUCH COOLER AND WETTER WEATHER ARRIVING BY LATE WEEKEND...

A RETURN TO WINTER LIKE WEATHER IS EXPECTED ON SUNDAY NIGHT AND
MONDAY AS A STRONG UPPER LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM PUSHES INTO NORTHERN
CALIFORNIA. PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TO PUSH INTO THE CENTRAL
CALIFORNIA INTERIOR BEGINNING SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND SPREAD SOUTHWARD
THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT. THE PRECIPITATION IS THEN EXPECTED TO TURN
MORE SHOWERY ON MONDAY AS A COLDER AIRMASS BUILDS INTO THE AREA.

OVER THE SOUTHERN SIERRA NEVADA...2 TO 3 FEET OF SNOW WILL BE
POSSIBLE ABOVE 6000 FEET BY MONDAY AFTERNOON. SNOW LEVELS WILL
INITIALLY BE AROUND 6000 FEET AT THE ONSET OF THE PRECIPITATION
SUNDAY AFTERNOON...BUT WILL LOWER TO 4000 TO 4500 FEET ON MONDAY
AS COLDER AIR PUSHES INTO CENTRAL CALIFORNIA. IN ADDITION...WIND
GUSTS ABOVE 45 MPH WILL BE POSSIBLE BY SUNDAY EVENING OVER THE
WEST SIDE OF THE SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY AND BELOW THE PASSES AND
CANYONS OF THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERTS OF KERN COUNTY. SOME SNOW
WILL BE POSSIBLE ON THE MOUNTAIN PASSES OF KERN COUNTY BY MONDAY
AFTERNOON.

PERSONS PLANNING TRAVEL IN THE CENTRAL CALIFORNIA INTERIOR SUNDAY
NIGHT AND MONDAY SHOULD KEEP ABREAST OF THE LATEST FORECASTS...AND
ANY WINTER WEATHER OR WIND WATCHES...WARNINGS OR ADVISORIES THAT
MAY BE NECESSARY.

Oh, great! Monday is my first day back to work and it's going to snow. Maybe I can put off the run to BOF until Tuesday.

Big Oak Flat. That's the entrance station on Hyw 120 on the north west side of the park. They're getting 3 new booths to replace the 2 they have now. They even included a design change I recommended - a parking space for me!cool smiley
