Re: Bear Update

Bears are very active in Yosemite Valley. They are emerging from their winter dens and are very hungry. Bears have been seen in all areas of the Valley including the meadows where they are currently foraging on grasses.

One bear has been hit by a car this year! Twenty six bears were hit by cars last year, along with an unknown number of deer, squirrels and other park animals. Slow down and save Yosemite’s wildlife.

Coyotes? I would guess none. The Trickster is really smart.

Dis cute guy was above Virginia Lake:
Other than that have heard them in Jack Main and saw them on opposing ridgeline.
Not common to run into them at all in the wilderness. (I beee berry jellyous of dat shot above!)

I care for and walk on a leash a coyote at an animal rehab facility I volunteer at in the San Bernardino mountains.

Have encountered several dingbats in the backcountry.
(Not anywhere near as intelligent as dingos.)

Hiking in the Lyell Canyon about 7 years ago, saw a coyote in the brush on the other side of the river.
