.A strong jet stream and increasing surface pressure gradients
Will generate gusty winds across the eastern Sierra Nevada and
portions of the Owens valley on Wednesday afternoon and evening.
As a storm system dips into the great basin on Thursday afternoon
into early friday morning winds will increase across Esmeralda and
central Nye counties with speeds potentially reaching warning level
criteria.

The national weather service in las vegas has issued a wind
Advisory for the eastern sierra nevada and owens valley of
California...Which is in effect from 11 am to 11 pm pdt
Wednesday.

* winds: southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph
Are expected with strongest winds near canyon openings and along
The sierra nevada crest. Gusts up to 45 mph are possible in the
Owens valley in localized areas.

* timing: winds will begin to increase around 11 am wednesday with
The strongest winds expected between 3 pm and 9 pm.

* locations: aspendell...South lake...Lake isabella...Mount
Whitney portal...Lone pine and independence

* impacts: gusty winds may make traveling difficult along area
Roadways including parts of highway 395. Gusty winds may also
Impact recreational areas in the eastern sierra nevada.
