Re: Arrow Spire

all the times i've been to Yosemite, i've never been to Arrow Spire.. i saw it on TV just now and noticed a road not far from it. can someone tell me how to get to it? i'd like to take photos of climbers and would like the best place to park etc.

Are you talking Lost Arrow?
Or Arrowhead Spire?

You gotta mean Lost Arrow. Prob. not too too many go up Arrowhead... ok.. it's not as impressive per say.

Lost Arrow from Yose Falls trail:

No problemo.

It's the spire east of Upper Yosemite Fall. We've seen people atop it many times.
You've looked up at it countless times yourself no doubt.

If you look on youtube you can find some videos of people slack-lining from
the top of Yose Falls all the way to Lost Arrow.

If you can see the people atop Yose Falls then it's a good spot to photograph
Lost Arrow imo. I like the views I showed above tho.

Go up the Yosemite Falls Trail. Bill-e-g's photo taken with a long lens from that trail shows people on the Lost Arrow, and others above them on top of the cliff. And to the far right you can see some fuzz on top of the cliff which is the pipe railing at Yosemite Point. The trail going from the top of the falls to North Dome goes right past the pipe railing at the Yosemite Point lookout.

Here it is from Yosemite Pt. railing in the middle of Feb. :
(you can see the switchbacks way down yonder)


You can just spy it from the top of the Upper Fall itself. Just before you start going down to the top of the fall railing.
Once at the Yose Fall railing you cannot see it.

i went to the Valley this last week, walked over to Upper Yosemite Falls and saw Lost Arrow... i had a "Duh!" moment as i realized (as Bill-e-g mentioned above) i had seen it numerous times in the past, not knowing what it was. lol thanks Bill
