...STRONG COLD FRONT TO BRING HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW TO THE
REGION...

.HEAVY SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS EXPECTED LATE TONIGHT AND TUESDAY AS
A STRONG ARCTIC COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH THE REGION. BLOWING SNOW
AND WHITEOUT CONDITIONS ARE POSSIBLE WITH THE FRONTAL PASSAGE.

TRAVEL IN THE SIERRA AND PORTIONS OF WESTERN NEVADA BE IMPACTED
AT TIMES THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING. MOTORISTS SHOULD STAY PREPARED FOR
WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS.

MORNING...
...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 4 PM
PST TUESDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RENO HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM
10 PM THIS EVENING TO 4 PM PST TUESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS
NO LONGER IN EFFECT. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW REMAINS IN
EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM PST THIS MORNING.

* TIMING: SNOW SHOWERS WILL SLOWLY DIMINISH BY NOON TODAY. THEN
LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOWFALL WILL DEVELOP TONIGHT AND BECOME HEAVY
ALONG THE COLD FRONT TUESDAY MORNING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 1 TO 4 INCHES THIS MORNING. 8 TO 14 INCHES
AT LAKE LEVEL TONIGHT AND TUESDAY WITH UP TO 2 FEET ABOVE 7000
FEET.

* WINDS: SOUTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45 MPH.

* IMPACTS: SNOW AND PERIODS OF BLOWING SNOW WILL RESULT IN POOR
VISIBILITY. WHITEOUT CONDITIONS ARE LIKELY OVER THE RIDGES AND
PASSES BECOMING WIDESPREAD FOR A 1 TO 3 HOUR PERIOD TUESDAY MORNING.
TRAVEL DELAYS WILL OCCUR TUESDAY MORNING.
