Dear Chick-on (et al.),
Thanks much... but where is your Muse?
(Didn't you read the terms and conditions? You MUST have your Muse with you when having your picture taken next to the Wash. Sq. BF statue. Go back and look at the cover of "Trout Fishing In America" again.)
Sincerely,
Len, The Beaks, and ... THE MARMOTS

Larry didn't want to go to SF. Not sure I'd call her a muse though (on the photo)
(did pick up the book at the library... reading it now).
Had photo of cover in camera... but forgot camera at home... had to bug someone
to borrow their camera to get the shots for Chick-on (had extra batts and mem. cards...
just no camera)
Somewhat confused about the photo on the cover though... the background does
not look correct.
Anyway, we had fun running thru SF on our way past Sacramento to take these:

According to The Beaks, Chick-on once told them that someone named "Teena" [sic, chickonese spelling/pronunciation] was his Muse.
(Finally fathomed why Chick-on's English is so fractured (archaic???) - it appears that he believes himself to be the reincarnation of Chaucer. See the "Word History" section in the following link: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Muse .)

Foreshortening... used a lot longer lens than you did.

Uh... I think the trees in the background grew quite a bit since TFIA cover
pict was taken. IMO no foreshortening is gonna penetrate the trees.
