Just curious. Of course residents and owners of homes in Foresta, Yosemite West, and Wawona only have access via Yosemite NP entrances. Do they have to pay entrance fees or get an annual pass in order to access their properties?

From the compendium:

Employees or residents are not required to pay entrance fees. A permit (decal) must be
displayed on their vehicle in the lower left hand corner of the driver’s side windshield. Permits are
issued at the South Entrance Station, Big Oak Flat Entrance Station, Arch Rock Entrance Station,
and at employee orientations. A permittee must remove the sticker prior to the sale of the
vehicle, at the expiration of the sticker, and at the termination of employment.

I looked up more from the compendium, which would seem to make this rule apply to "park residents".

§2.23(a) Recreational Fees
• Pursuant to Part 71.13(c) and 71.13(d), a permit is necessary for waiver of
fees for educational or scientific visits; or for park employees or residents.

I'm not sure if inholding residents are considered park residents. Yosemite West is even completely outside of Yosemite NP borders.

They probably enjoy an easement.

Those living in the park, or those that can only access their property through the park, get a sticker to put in the window that lets them in for free. Guests or those using vacation rentals have to pay since it is rightly assumed they will be recreating in the park.

During the summer I take care of the educational fee waivers. To get that the school/college has to be sponsoring the trip to the park and the students have to be receiving classroom credit for the trip.
