"Big Bang" character struck by lightning in Yosemite?
August 01, 2011 06:28AM
Forgot to post this last week. I was watching Letterman and Johnny Galecki of the "The Big Bang Theory" told a story about recently being struck by lightning while on a trail in Yosemite. Apparently something to do with becoming an "upward leader" or "positive streamer" as it was not a direct hit. Accuweather picked it up. If interested in knowing more about the story and "streamers," visit the following link http://www.accuweather.com/blogs/weathermatrix/story/52986/theory-of-a-big-bang-johnny-galecki-struck-by-lightning.asp

From the article:
Let this be a lesson to you, hikers. Carry a lightning detector and take shelter when you see ominous clouds. The next person won't be so lucky.

Anyone had any experience with a "lightning detector", or carry one routinely?

We need a machine to detect lightening? Let's get real.
