Regarding your shelter ... is it a simple tarp, or a tarp-tent? I tried using a tarp tent in the sierras but was annoyed because 99% of the time I tried to stake the corners down, I would hit granite. Then I tried guying the corners to nearby rocks and trees, but that creates horrible tripping hazards for the 3AM nature call. I see you do the carry-rocks-around trick, but that gets tiresome, doesn't it?

Right now i just use a normal tent (Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2) with normal poles, and spend no more than 20 seconds trying to stake it down. If I can't get any stakes in the ground, I just put my stuff inside of it to keep it from turning into a kite. It's a little heavier than a tarp or a tarptent solution, but it spares me 10-20 minutes of hunting for rocks.

Since the Packers have home field advantage throughout the playoffs, if the 49ers make it that far, they'll have to go through Green Bay, not the other way around.

I know GB has the #1 seed. I meant that they would have to beat the Niners to get to the super bowl...hence going thru SF. Although, with as good as new Orleans has been playing, it could be a moot point for both teams.

The body betrays and the weather conspires, hopefully, not on the same day.

90% of the time I don't use anything. It was windy so I set it up. It's a "Pyramid Tent". Ridiculously light... and ridiculously expensive.
Mountain Laurel Designs. I'm not enamored with it yet. Only set it up twice so far tho. Rocks are always close by. I've never had
any issue finding rocks. So much so I very very very rarely take stakes.

Anywho, it was a bit windy at sunset... so I set it up... then it was calm for a few hours... then it got supa dupa windy..
