Exploring, learning, sharing, preserving “All things Muir” is the focus of this one day festival hosted at Coulterville Park and Big Creek Meadow Ranch on Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 10 am – 4 pm. Both venues are along the 14-mile J132/Historic John Muir Route that Muir himself wrote about in “My First Summer in the Sierra” while traveling through the area in 1869. The days experiences include hands-on nature play and activities for adults and kids, nature tours, presentations from Muir enthusiasts and live music. Crafters and artists will also exhibit and share their talents and food and beverages are available for purchase.

The John Muir Festival is hosted in Coulterville by the John Muir Geotourism Center and at Big Creek Meadow Ranch by It’s for the People. Sponsors include Coulterville Fire Brigade, Yosemite Bank, Yosemite Chamber of Commerce, Yosemite/Mariposa County Tourism Bureau, Historic Hotel Jeffery, Motorcycle Road Tours, Merlin and Miriam Jones and Coulterville Community Club.
