From a National Park Service press release regarding Crystal Cave in Sequoia National Park:
July 6, 2012 — Crystal Cave is Temporarily Closed until further notice (as of 7/6/12) due to an unforeseen circumstance and possible visitor safety issue.
It was temporarily closed to investigate historic blasting wires from the 1930s, when the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) used dynamite to blast trails in the cave.
