This smacks of desparation - he is now embedding an e-mail address in the title: "Yosemite Camping: sjps9-3148369314 !at! sale.craigslist.org"

lol...

Extremely low snowpack which dried up the falls early, so the demand is surely not as high as last year where articles were being written all over the country regarding Yosemite's thunderous waterfalls.

He's got something new going on here. This heading has been listed for about 7 hours. Post was deleted by author but the heading, with embedded email address, won't go away.
I sent an email to Craigslist, but I'm not exactly holding my breath.

Jul 18 - Yosemite campsite (at)hotmail.com - (Campsites Verifiable) general - by owner

Here's another variation Jul 19 - reserve yosemite (at) hotmail.com - (verifiable) general - by owner http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/for/3150363379.html

This way he can post, then immediately delete and the heading stays on the list. By doing this constantly he can keep the listing up. Only problem I see is that if I were looking for a site, clicked it, and saw "deleted by author" I would figure it was gone. I don't think he will generate much business that way.

Also I sent an email to Hotmail reporting his use of Microsoft to illegaly sell campsites in violation of Federal Regulations.

My posting on Craigslist got flagged by someone. I am not sure why. I wasn't selling the campsite or making any money off of it. I was just offering it to anyone that would like to use it. I plan to be in the park at the same time to give over the reservation. I was trying to give them away so I don't lose my $104. deposit. I completely agree that people should not sell campsite reservations and I put a lot of effort into getting these reservations (days and days of calling). The Craigslist listing should not have been flagged for inappropriate use.

Wasn't your ad the one for the Housekeeping camp? If so I don't think that ad link was ever posted here for flagging. That's like a hotel reservation not a NPS campsite.

business is going so well for the leech that he needs to post his scamming email in the subject line to garner some sort of interest

He's pretending to search for campsites in hopes that those needing a site will email him.

He's probably done for the summer. He'll be back next spring.
Re: More ads that need flagging...

He's still around. To get around the flagging he's posting these ad links; " Campgrounds ((at)) hotmail.com - (email for details, updates verifiable) general - by owner" and "Yosemite Campground (at) hotmail.com - (updates can be verified, email me) general - by owner" then deleting the content. There is nothing to flag and the link stays up for awhile. Only problem I see is that most "customers" would click on the link - see "deleted by author" and forget about it.

I think the members of this forum have done an extraordinary job of defeating and/or obstructing Tran to the point where he is a failure.
I am impressed with the resilience of this forum in beating this guy to the floor and holding him there.
It is unfortunate that the private companies and government agencies involved will not or cannot do what it takes to stop this mans singular greed,
the glaring graft and to fix a broken system.
I have contacted Craigslist numerous times and I have been ignored. I have done the same with Reserve America, the National Park Service,
the Federal Department of Justice, the California Department of Justice, and the Federal Department of the Interior. None respond.
The yosemitenews.info/forum has done what the state government, federal government and private companies cannot or will not do.
I applaud your commitment and persistance in preventing this thief from profiteering from our national parks and robbing honest people of the opportunity to experience Yosemite.
I hope we continue to pounce on this thief and I say "job well done".
