The Spur Fire was reported to fire dispatch at approximately 10:30 am, Monday October 29, 2012. It was near the Flying Spur Ranch and the junction to the Little Nellie Falls road on private and Stanislaus NF lands. Yosemite fire crews assisted the Stanislaus NF with suppressions efforts. Additional fire crews were supplemented by the Sierra and a CAL Fire, Mt Bullion, handcrew. Yosemite Rangers assisted with traffic into the community of Foresta. The fire was contained at 20 acres, has been mopped up 100 feet into the perimeter, and is patrol status. Light smoke may be visible in the morning hours today.
As a fire safety reminder that even with last week’s rain the vegetation remains dry and the potential for fire exists
