Is it safe to say that there probably won't be a repeat of that water drought this year?

I don't think we can know yet...I moved to CA in 1987, the following winter had a good early start then petered out into drought. I've seen that pattern a few other years as well. So far, November and December were wet, first half of January dry.

No, we're around 50% of an average year's snow pack. If no more snow falls, we will be well short.

Any guestimates on what conditions will be like around mid-Feb? My wife and I are planning a weekend trip. Really want to do some cross-country skiing.

Also, does the Wawona campground tend to fill up on weekends in the winter?

It's hard to say--we could get a huge storm between now and then, or it could continue to be relatively dry. However, if you are going to stay on the GP road, as long as it's been groomed recently, you should be fine--but be prepared to have almost zero glide going downhill in the afternoon if it's warm and sunny, at least on waxless skis :-(

I don't believe the Wawona campground fills in winter.
