I'm pretty sure that's Swinging Bridge (when it actually was a swinging bridge).

Yes that is the old, real Swinging Bridge, looks like middle-late 1950's. I had lots of fun getting that thing swinging and a few pinched toes too.

Awesome. Just awesome. Thanks for sharing.

This is a photo from Dearborn of the bridge:

As was told on this forum... part of the old foundation still is present just NE of the
current not-so-Swinging Bridge.

iirc basilbirdy and dearborn told of this

Thx. Love looking for this type of stuff.

Greatly appreciate it

I remember that bridge. My brother and I used to make it swing too. That made our sister scream. That made us swing it more. Grinning Devil

The Wawona one is pretty bouncy and I couldn't get it to swing.

These are great, I remember some of the others you posted from this trip,
including the same family members who are in this photo posing with bicycles.

Thank you for posting them, and please post more! smiling smiley

Not a swinging bridge, but does anybody remember the rope swing at Devil's Elbow? I had a blast on that thing, splashing into the Merced River, on many a weekend in the 70s. Is it still there?
