Buger Kiing != Food (fast or otherwise)

Yeah, I know that is your feeling... that's what makes it even better.

Obviously food is subjective too... since I got suckered into eating at some Pizza Factories....
and those places ... you can keep all of them...

Merry Go Round restaurant: https://sites.google.com/site/merrygoroundfood/home

(The food at Seasons is also better than the food at the Lone Pine Pizza Factory, though prices are quite high.)

I haven't been there since the ownership change, but during the reign of the original owner, it offered some outstanding food (like their St. Louis Ribs) but some way overrated food too (like their lobster taquitos). So it did take some skill in ordering.

But if you knew what to order, the food was great. Just loved the Cowboy steak sandwich, a lot of steak for a very reasonable price.

Cafe Bonanza in Lone Pine.

Get their Chile Colorado. In. Credible.

Stay as far as humanly possible AWAY from the Whitney Cafe. Worst breakfast and service in memory.

I've thoroughly enjoyed my stops at Whoa Nellie.
The food is ok, a bit pricey maybe, breakfast I think is the best deal.

I think what's much better though, is to sit down and just watch the people. There's such a diverse assortment that go through there! Full spectrum high to low of Americans, then there's the foreign tourists.

Any pictures from the week more scenic than Livermore traffic?

I dunno... is this scenic?

I think so. There's some nice granite too around that area. It's no Half Dome though.

One other interesting thing... to me and Old Dood at least... was this snag on the way from HH to Miguel.
It's been holding on for many years. And we figured it would have toppled after the winds from last year at least.
But no... it only got topped. Pretty disappointed.

That wind in early December 2011 must have channeled through some very specific areas, I had seen lots of blowdowns the next month around the north part of Laurel Lake, w/ 3 large live trees stacked on each other, while these snags look like they all held on.
