The Forbidden Fire is a lightning strike fire that started May 21st. It is approximately 175 acres and is being managed by Yosemite Fire Personnel. Smoke is visible at times along Tioga Pass Road and also from Glacier Point.
Fires Burning Outside Yosemite:
The Aspen Fire is now 85% contained. It has burned 22,253 acres. This lightning strike fire is on the Sierra National Forest, between Mammoth Pools and Huntington Lake.
The Power Fire is now at 1,060 acres with 85% containment. This fire is on the Stanislaus National Forest. The cause of this fire is under investigation.
