... Amid decades of rising average temperatures, the Lyell and Maclure have lost roughly 65 percent of their surface area and an even greater proportion of their volume. As a result of this mass melting, the Lyell Glacier has stopped moving altogether – transformed from a “living” glacier to a dead patch of ice.

Which is to say, the Lyell Glacier is a glacier no more.
