bzw (by Z way) :
Saw ur discussion on solo hike-on on some other bored.
For me... I greatly enjoy solo endeavors for a number of reasons:
a) can go at own pace b) can stop whenever I want
c) can zippy anywhere I want for a view
d) don't have to worry about anyone else

Actually nix the trail so much now ... it just feels more free and
more adventurous and the trail is oft times not in the best view
spots...
Even with snow... xcountried entirely cept may 1/4 mile from
Babcock to Boothe... and saw some great terrain and meadows
the trail nixes... did see some peeps at Emeric... and
just stopped by to see if everything was o.k.... but normally
I walk the other way.

Love going with other peeps but also love the solo jaunts.

Half a Dome fun out der

I admire folks who take on treks by themselves; it demonstrates a lot of characteristics that are in tune with the outdoors.

George D. mentions frequently that people just do not get off the trail enough even to enjoy a meadow a few feet away! Even better would bee meadows off-off trail, so that the stock, people, etc had not caused any erosion at all.

I think that Chick-on is looking at you! needs to take Chick-ah out more (it makes for better pictures)

Careful now...you know what might come next....

I have found a few of these nests from time to time in the Sierra...eggs have a granite like appearance and are very heavy, and the nest is usually made of pine straw. I haven't seen any birds nearby that appear to be tending the nest...any ideas?
