Smoke may continue to be visible from inside the 2013 Rim Fire containment lines. A smoking tree was reported to the Yosemite Emergency Communications Center last week along the Aspen Valley Road. It was investigated and found to be a single smoldering ponderosa pine within the Rim Fire perimeter. It was put out by Yosemite fire crews. Considering the size and magnitude of the last summer’s fire, and continued dryness, occasional visible smoke may be seen by visitors, employees and residents. Each smoke report will be investigated and the fire will be put out.
