The periods of smoky conditions we are experiencing are from regional fires outside the park. The Rough Fire (south of the park) has now consumed approximately 16,390 acres. The Walker Fire, to the east of Yosemite, has burned 2,200 acres. It was announced this morning (8/17/15) that there will again be periodical 1 way convoys escorting cars from the Tioga Pass area to highway 395. The convoys will be contingent on fire behavior throughout the day.
Fires within Yosemite (Dark, Middle, Cathedral) are all being monitored by fire crews. They have shown very little growth over the weekend. Occasional smoke may be visible from these fires, especially along the Tioga Pass Road.
