...DENSE SMOKE ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM PDT

...LAKE WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 10 PM PDT SATURDAY...

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Lake Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from noon to 10 PM PDT Saturday.

* Dense Smoke Advisory until 11 AM Friday: Periods of dense smoke
from the Ferguson and Lions Fires will continue to impact Mono
County over the next day or two. The dense smoke advisory may
need to be extended beyond 11 AM Friday depending on wildfire
activity.

* Lake Wind Advisory Noon to 10 PM Saturday: West to southwest
winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph are possible on all
lakes in Mono County. Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards
will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters
until conditions improve.

* Additional Details: Low visibility from wildfire smoke will
impact travel along Highways 120, 203 and 395. Reduced
visibility may impact departures and arrivals at the Mammoth
Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dense Smoke will lead to unhealthy air quality. Those who are
sensitive to smoke should remain indoors. Those planning to be
outdoors should consider alternate activities to reduce exposure
to smoke.

The Tuolumne County Air Pollution Control District has issued an
Air Quality Alert for Tuolumne County due to smoke impacts from
the Ferguson Fire. Smoke levels continue to reach well into the
hazardous range.

This Air Quality Alert is in effect until the fires are
extinguished.

Exposure to particle pollution can cause serious health problems,
aggravate lung disease, cause asthma attacks and acute
bronchitis, and increase risk of respiratory infections.

Residents are advised to use caution as conditions warrant.
People with heart or lung diseases should follow their doctor`s
advice for dealing with episodes of unhealthy air quality.

Additionally, older adults and children should avoid prolonged
exposure, strenuous activities or heavy exertion, as conditions
dictate.

What about the Carson Pass / Thunder Mountain area? I'm sure it will be somewhat murky, but perhaps the air quality isn't as bad? Same question for Sonora/Blue Canyon/Leavitt?
