All campgrounds in Yosemite Valley (Upper Pines, Lower Pines, North Pines, and Camp 4) are open today, Tuesday August 14th. Reservations for Upper Pines, Lower Pines, and North Pines may be available online via http://recreation.gov.

Camp 4 is first-come, first served and will be on self-registration for the nights of Tuesday, August 14th and Wednesday, August 15th. Hopeful campers should go directly to Camp 4 to look for space and register. Beginning on Thursday, August 16th, anyone wishing to camp will need to register with the ranger at the Camp 4 kiosk. Space is only available on a first-come, first-served basis.

And since my nephew and his friends are here visiting from Spain, I actually got a campsite in the valley on a Saturday in the middle of August. Stunning.
