All current fires within Yosemite NP are 100% contained.
Lukens Fire is 867 acres, 100% contained
Tiltill Fire is 2,323 acres 100% contained
From Tuesday, October 19 through Wednesday, October 20, fire crews will be burning piles to mitigate remaining activity fuels from the suppression efforts along Tioga road in the footprint of the Lukens/County Line fires. Travelers may see burning piles and smoke along Tioga Road from White Wolk Junction to Mc Swain Summitt. Trail closures are still in effect for the Lukens Lake Trail.
The KNP Complex in Sequoia / Kings Canyon NP, is now 55% contained and is 88. 068 acres. Damage to Park infrastructure and Sequoia Groves is still being assessed. Employees are being allowed back in to housing and offices at Ash Mountain. Sequoia NP is still closed. Kings Canyon NP is partially open. Go to nps.gov/seki for more information.
