Please expect workers on or near Tioga Road near the following locations. Locations and dates are subject to change.
June 6: Paving from the old gas station through the visitors center. Concrete curb placement along Tenaya Lake. Fine grading Pothole Dome West through climbers turnouts. Fine grading East Beach Picnic Area through Sunrise Lakes Trailhead. Pulverizing west of Sunrise Lakes Trailhead.
The plan is to use the following parking areas as a paving truck turnarounds: West Pothole Dome July 6, and East Beach on July 7.
Pilot cars are running from Soda Springs Road to the Visitor Center and from Climbers turnout to Olmstead Point. Expect 20 minute delay at the pilot cars.
No parking along Tioga Road within the pilot car area. No parking at Pothole Dome west, that lot is needed for paving truck turnaround. Lembert Dome parking lot will be open, however Soda Springs Road will remain closed.
The Dog Lake trailhead, Wilderness Center, Visitor Center, new Contact Center, and Pothole Dome East parking lots are open and available for meadow parking. The store parking is open for shoppers. East Beach, Murphy Creek Picnic Area, Old Campground and Sunrise Lakes Trailhead parking lots are open. The temporary trail from the Visitors Center parking lot to the Cathedral Lakes Trailhead is open.
