Whitney Portal Road next Thursday/Friday?

Hey everyone! I'm just curious if anyone who is really familiar with the area knows what the road might be like on those dates with the upcoming storm on Tuesday? The road only goes up to 8300 feet and I've been wanting to go up there forever so I'm staying the in Lone Pine on Thursday-Saturday. It looks like the forecast on Friday is a bit warmer but should I bring some tire chains just in case? Does Whitney Portal road close often this early in the season? I called a few places in Lone Pine to ask but nobody really knew...
