Last Wednesday (Dec. 27th) I was flying from San Jose to San Diego on Southwest and was able to capture this image of Half Dome and the Sierra crest on my iPhone while traveling past Gilroy around 11 AM in the morning...

Great photo. I've been told that you can see something similar from I-5 near Patterson on a clear day, but I've never been there when it is that clear. sigh.

On a clear day, CA 99 in Turlock. Santa Fe Road between Turlock and Snelling. You can see parts of Half Dome including the top from many areas in the Central Valley. A clear day is required. :<winking smiley cjh
