Cancelling my reservation for Upper Pines at 10pm PT tonight and it should be available on Recreation.gov

Is it really that hard to get a reservation this time of year?

Yes…reservations open three months in advance and five minutes later most are gone. October 15th at 7 AM is the most stressful day of my life each year. :<( cjh

3 months? I thought it was 5. And I guess it has been a long time. I never knew that Jan was hard to get in.

Five Months in Advance
Upper Pines, Lower Pines, North Pines, Wawona, and Hodgdon Meadow campground reservations are released five months in advance on the 15th of each month.

Sites are gone within seconds, not minutes.

I appreciate the heads-up. I always try to let the campground office know as far in advance when I know I won't be using nights I've reserved. I have sometimes found a spot for myself at the last minute, but that's always been mid-week during the off-season.

There are tons and tons of sites available in Upper Pines right now. Most saturdays are gone, but almost all other days are free. Just as I expected.
