Yosemite - Finding a campground
February 29, 2024 02:05PM
Hello there!

Greetings from Brazil! smileys with beer

I will be traveling to Yosemite with a RV (25 ft) from June 2nd to 4th. I looked for campgrounds within the park and found no availability.

So I'll have to stay out of it. I also could not found availability from west entrances.

I found something near the Tioga Pass entrance, but the information is that it is closed from approximately November through late May or June

Now I'm in doubt whether or not this entry will be available. If not, a trip from the campground to the entrance that should take about 30 minutes will take more than 6-7 hours!

Can anyone help me? Any tip is welcome!

Thank you very much!!!

I would not plan on Tioga Pass (HWY 120) opening by 6/2.
It might, and you might want to get reservations on the eastern side just in case, but you will most likely have to cancel these.
Inside the park, many campgrounds have not started taking reservations yet. Keep looking.
Sometimes the park will not necesarily announce when sites will become available to reserve.
The new policy for the following campgrounds is 2 weeks prior to arrival:
"Bridalveil Creek, Crane Flat, Tamarack Flat, White Wolf, Yosemite Creek, and Porcupine Flat campground reservations are released two weeks in advance on a rolling daily window (i.e., 14 days in advance of arrival date)"

Look for group sites or private campgrounds on the western side: Try Indian Flat.

My advice, is keep checking daily.

Thanks a lot for your answer

Unfortunetly 2 weeks is not enought time for me, since I will be traveling abroad and with kids.

But I appreciate your time and effort to help me

And July 22, 2023 but that was unusual...

Great, this can help. My conclusion is that this is not an option, because I can not risk to have a closed road to my way to the park

If I recall correctly, Camp 4 releases reservations one week prior.

Yes, that would be a great spot. But they are not available on my dates
