Not a bad idea. I could do the weekly thing. I don't have the loading issue since I have the cache in Firefox set pretty high, but I could see people without a large cache or with slower internet having issues. The weekly dividing could avoid that. My original intent was for other people to partake and post a few daily photos, which could all be kept in one thread for easy access. Whelp, got behind again. Time for catch-up. I'm not too proud of these photos because they were from my first time using a DSLR and I really messed up on metering and properly setting the aperture. I was trying to salvage photos that had the aperture set way too small and the exposure way too low. The contrast and exposure were very difficult to fix without causing it to look cartoonish, andby dqniel - Photography advice, critiques and tutorials
I checked out her personal site, and some of it is really stunning. A lot of it is the same stuff I've seen on every landscape page, but some of it is very refreshing and a cool take on what some people might see as a "boring" scene. I really, really like this one: http://www.robinblackphotography.com/wp-content/gallery/landscapes/mcway-creek.jpgby dqniel - Photography advice, critiques and tutorials
I won't be able to go since I'm across the country. Is there any way to view her work on that site? I can't find any of the work, only names.by dqniel - Photography advice, critiques and tutorials
Oh, I didn't realize that since it was only ~1.2MP. I figured you downsized it for the web. I was going to try something on it using a mixture of cloning and healing brush.by dqniel - Photography advice, critiques and tutorials
We didn't stop at all, other than for gas/food, between Houston and just south of Albuquerque, NM. Lots and lots of boring driving, although I'd still take it over driving through most areas of the Midwest. All the pictures above were taken from a moving car while my friends were driving, heh. The first planned stop after Houston was the Painted Desert/Petrified Forest. Those will be in mby dqniel - Photography advice, critiques and tutorials
Dave, do you have the original photo straight from the camera available? Was just curious to see it.by dqniel - Photography advice, critiques and tutorials
Switching gears again, and back to 2007 for my first road trip. We went south through KY, TN, MS, and LA on our way to our first stop in Houston. Stayed with a friend for a few days there and then went onward, west through TX... Open road DSC01345 by dqniel, on Flickr They like to paint on their hillsides there? Welp, missed a few days so I need to do at least twelve tonight. I'll be switching gears since I got through my favorites from that Colorado trip. Time to post some stuff from around Cincinnati. Not the most exciting place in terms of landscapes, but there is some interesting weather and a few wildlife pictures I have that shouldn't be too bad. I really like the last one. Very unfortunate about the lens defect Nothing more frustrating than getting a new piece of gear that doesn't work properly. I'm on my second Pentax K-r now and will probably be on my third soon. The first had focus and control issues, and this one has a battery indicator issue. Always look forward to your shots tannby dqniel - Photography advice, critiques and tutorials
Yeah, if I do just three photos a day it would take me years to do as well. However, I just set a low number so that even on days when I'm not feeling motivated I'll at least get some done if I set myself a goal. Really, I want to try and get as many done per day as possible. I'll try to do it in somewhat chronological order. My first set of photos is going to be from 2006 during a mountaby dqniel - Photography advice, critiques and tutorials
After reading through that RAW vs JPEG thread it has remotivated (not a word?) me to start processing photos that I've never even gone through from my trips. I'm going to make it my early New Year's resolution to try and go through at least three photos per day and post them here Others should join me cause I love seeing photos and hearing the stories behind them!by dqniel - Photography advice, critiques and tutorials
At one point it was about noble adventure, but now it's about ignorant, rich tourists. Obviously there are exceptions, but after watching some modern documentaries on Everest and seeing interviews with the types of people trying to climb it... all I can do is shake my head. Some of the people attempting to summit Everest should no more be trying to do that than I should be attempting brain surgby dqniel - General Discussion

In Photoshop you can do that with the clone stamp or healing brush tools. You just have to ctrl click or alt click, I forget which, to select the texture you're using as your base to paint/heal with.by dqniel - Photography advice, critiques and tutorials
