Bad thing is they can still buy the canceled reservations online. Only when they have to call the campground reservation phone will things really be taken care of. Now if we can get the park to do this with the Half Dome permits. Then I'll really be jumping up and down with joy.by rightstar76 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Awesome pictures! I really enjoyed the Redwood Meadow one. I always wondered how you could get there from the bottom. Lots of poison oaks and ticks I'm guessing.by rightstar76 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

That's what I am thinking. The fewer ads if any on CL that have anything to do with HD and Yosemite the better. That's the goal right?by rightstar76 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
The following so called "public service ads" all have either SALE in their title or a dollar amount. Also, ad 2417600500 says "Because we're here to help you get the sites and permits you couldn't get legally. See, it's our business to "help" you get them." Then it ends with "happy scalping". Doesn't seem like a legit ad to me. I think they should be flaggeby rightstar76 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

I'm not going to stop flagging because some people are getting a bunch of permits for days they know they won't be going in hopes of trading for days they will (or worse selling them). Half Dome has become a business and IMHO it's sickening. Books, classes, lectures, etc. all for one destination in Yosemite with one thing in common - money and ego. It's a real shame the NPS doesn't have the saby rightstar76 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

But it's not fair since it only allows one group to get campsites. The park is for everyone not just one group - even if it's a non profit and the people are nice. And that's what seems to have happened here.by rightstar76 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
who are affiliated or believe in the organization's philosophy. If you're not in, you don't have the opportunity to purchase a spot. We're not talking about a group that purchases three campsites and gets a dozen people to show up. We're talking a couple hundred people. Even though it's non profit it's still taking campsites away from the rest of the public. Seems like at this level they should hby rightstar76 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Very illegal. Buyers are in for a fun surprise since they'll have to show id when they get there, am I right?by rightstar76 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
They're going to get more creative. But no matter how creative they get, they can't hide the fact that they're on Craigslist and most people don't post there unless they're looking to buy/sell/organize something. I think the NPS should do something about this yesterday. For example, look at hikers' id's. Then this business of scalping would be instantly unprofitable and disappear. I like that one too! I flagged it before I was even done reading it.by rightstar76 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
There are some ads that let people know the cables aren't up. Trouble is they then say yosemite half dome permits on the bottom of the ad. I think these are scalper ads in disguise. The scalpers hope they won't be flagged. People will respond. Then the scalper can say yeah it's closed this weekend. I have some permits for next weekend to sell you, etc. Some people will just reply and offer to buyby rightstar76 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
But it says yosemite half dome permits on the bottom.by rightstar76 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
There's a new tack the scalpers are using. It's the phony public service announcement. It sounds like a nice person wants to inform everyone what's going on. Then on the bottom it says half dome permits or something similar. Also, please don't fall for the trade pitch. One I saw says "trade only" and gives a seemingly legit reason i.e. wedding but then says "interested in any amby rightstar76 - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Here goes: GONE! Some scalpers are putting willing to trade in their subject lines hoping that they won't be flagged. I saw one that does that and then says wants to purchase in the ad. Another one tries to come off as a swap and then says at the end of the ad willing to pay. Very sneaky. This is why I flag all of them. P.S.
