I carry one of these in Az as an emergency "tent" should it rain (fat chance). well, it finally happened to rain this last may (it actually snowed at the higher elevations) and I used the thing. mars, I have a bunch of photos (yup -- the real thingy before digital) that I took of Shasta in May, and all around is perfectly clear while a huge mass of clouds were storming over Shasta. The class was really fun, and the environment was a really nice change up from what I was used to (especially the lack of population density) I took that class and I took another more advanced class that dealt with rope crossing, etc., and I have never used either skill set.
