bill-e-g correctly talking about people saying the steep approach section to get to the cables is wrongly called quarter dome by alot of newbs . . . quarter dome(s) themselves are seldom visited . i;ve also seen the visor referred to as "the devil's diving board" (huh?) . i've been to the real diving board twice so i applaud the thread .by Lucrativ - General Discussion
I wanted to make a similar connection going from north dome (proper) to snow creek trail and ended up getting lured down below basket dome to a ledge about 600 ft above mirror lake (circa 1976 or something) . The next morning the rangers rappeled me down to the ground .by Lucrativ - General Discussion
yeah . it's cool to want to help find the camera / card but everybody stay safe . we used to brouse that ledge for water bottles etc every trip to half dome , but i'm sure the rangers would have a fit with the idea of people off trail in such a remote area and complex terrain .by Lucrativ - General Discussion
I left out a needed frame before the last image (oh well) . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaEc0dYnX9wby Lucrativ - General Discussion
I doubt the chip got ejected from the camera . I bet you could have found it easily if you'd walked the base that day , but this (post) is a good idea anyway . . . someone might like the challenge of finding it and they will help you out .by Lucrativ - General Discussion
If you look at the historic photos all over the valley you see that the views have consistently been reduced (if you will) by trees etc . The viewer/ photographer must adjust .by Lucrativ - General Discussion
Mom , baseball , apple-pie . . . and Half Dome .by Lucrativ - General Discussion
I went to the lake after walking around Starrking back in 1990 . I came up from Yosemite valley leaving the Nevada falls (horse trail) trail about midway between Vernal and Nevada . I did it as a day hike , and it was pretty easy . . . as bushwhacking goes I guess . I remember the west side of the lake being densely wooded but not many other details . The Mono meadows approach would be plenty scby Lucrativ - General Discussion
Looking forward to a video/trip report .by Lucrativ - General Discussion
I had to appear there once cuz I got stopped and cited for having these shields on my sunglasses while driving tioga road . The judge kind of laughed off the case , but it was scary at the time .by Lucrativ - General Discussion
