All, Thanks for all of the input. KenM, Fight On! I am going to let my wife read these posts, and she will hopefully be thankful for all of the input . Another question: Do daily doses of garlic help with putting off mosquitoes? I seem to remember an old wives tale about this. Post Edited (07-12-07 15:20)by snorkus - General Discussion
Thanks for your replies. I will probably post this again the first week of August to see what the latest mosquito situation is.by snorkus - General Discussion
Going to Tuolumne Meadows Aug 13 -16th. My wife( a non-camper) is really apprehensive about the mosquitoes. What is a typical mosquito situation in August? What are the latest good repellents, precautions and gadgets to keep her (and our under age 10 kids) comfortable? Thanks for any help.by snorkus - General Discussion
I don't want to call anyone out here, but anyone who wears Keds to go on a hike for a 17 mile roundtrip is ill-prepared. I have spent the night up there 2 times, and been up there twice on day hikes. I want to camp for about 4 days in the Tuolumne campground starting August 12. Wanted to get there on a Sunday morning/afternoon, but the on-line reservations don't seem to have any available until Monday (Aug 13). I know the campground is 50% reserved and 50% walk-in. Anyone know if my chances are pretty good that I can get a camp site for Sunday? I would then just reserve the other days.by snorkus - General Discussion
