If your looking for Utah parks it doesn't look like you have been to Arches N.P. yet. In the Moab area you have Arches and Canyonlands National Parks also Dead Horse Point State Park. From there you can easily drive down to Monument Valley. Plenty to see in this area.by ERICG - General Discussion

For me, the season(s) are just starting. Yosemite is wonderful anytime of year but the summer months are just too crowded, noisy, and hot. Fall is a beautiful time to be in the valley even more so if we get an early high country snow event to get the waterfalls going. During the winter, after the valley gets a fresh coat of snow, I can't believe there can be a more beautiful place anywhere on earby ERICG - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Quotemrcondron QuoteERICG I don't think DNC filed a trademark for the name Ahwahnee Meadow. Read Appendix 17, Section 24, paragraph 81, Line 37 of the trademark filing. Seems odd the they would still use the name Ahwahnee Meadow in the press release.by ERICG - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

Dana Village is on the west side of Tioga Road. Just take the trail to Gaylor Lakes right next to the entrance station. Once you get to the lower lake take the trail that heads north passed the upper lake. After you pass the upper lake you will see a trail going up the hill on your left. You can also see one of the larger remaining structures from the lake. Just climb up the hill and your at Danaby ERICG - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
QuoteKevinD Quoteplawrence QuoteERICG We were in So. Lake Tahoe when the fire started after taking 395 just a few days earlier. Going home decided to take hwy 50 back to Sacramento and then the 99 back to So. Cal (a painful drive) instead of the longer detour back into Nevada. From Sacramento, why Hwy 99 instead of I-5 if you were heading all the way back to SoCal? Hwy 99 is indeed painful,by ERICG - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

All of the falls in the park are still going strong. From Glacier Point this past weekend you could see there was still plenty of snow in all directions to keep the falls going for quite some time. The Merced River was also still going strong. Didn't stop at Cathedral Picnic area so I can't say if there is anywhere to wade into the water.by ERICG - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. Have always decided to stay away from Yosemite on Memorial Day weekend but this year I thought I would give it a try. My thinking was drive in later in the day on Saturday and go in on the east side. Checked weather reports and road conditions and everything look like a go to go in at Tioga Pass. Driving up the 395 from So. Cal. Quoteplawrence QuoteERICGIt's time to change this so we can just attach a photo from our documents. What if you don't have a Facebook account or any other photo sharing sites? It should just take 2 clicks to load images here. I would love to share my images here but it's just such a pain to do so. Thanks for listening! Quoteplawrence Quotehikerchick395 Since we can't "attach" a photo from our files at this website like in other forums and I don't want to open another photo sharing account, is it possible to share from faceybook? Yes, you can link photos you have posted on Facebook to this forum. Just copy of the URL of the image itself.
