Average Snow Depth is 4 to 6 feet Plowing operation will continue today. Glacier Point Update: Crew is working back from Glacier Point to widen and clean roadway. Each road has its special qualities. I would say they are equally beautiful. Hwy 108 is actually my favorite of the two. I go up there several times each year. Hwy 4 is open on the east side to about 7 miles past the junction with Hwy 89. That's near the Raymond Creek bridge and the campground. We drove up there today and practically had the place to ourselves. Quite breezy but beautiful.by Louis - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

So far the storm as it came through Tahoe has been a dud. When I tried looking at the Yosemite cams earlier I couldn't see anything. Looked like fog or snow...not sure which.by Louis - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
I recall times when they have run into boulders and downed trees buried in the snow that did major damage to the rotary plows. Also, I think the density of the snow has a lot of effect on their progress...especially when they get into the really deep stuff.
