I can't imagine these pictures would interest anyone as I'm sure you all have seen these sites before, but since I know Chick-on likes pictures... Here are pictures from 2009 with the family (From the valley and vernal falls): http://s133.photobucket.com/albums/q45/delabril/Yosemite/2009/ And here is 2010 (just me and the wife). I live vicariously through everyone here. No Yosemite for me this year. I'm going to try for a trip or two next year, but family obligations are taking up much of my free time. It's not Yosemite, but here are pictures of us on the zip lines in Cabo San Lucas: http://s133.photobucket.com/albums/q45/delabril/Carnival2012/ZipLines/by Hitech - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. I had a friend do that. Still can't figure out how he managed it. He did at least think to wipe the water off of his leg. I dumped cold water on it for several minutes but it still left a nasty burn all around the spot I applied 2nd skin to. The square where I applied the 2nd skin was not burned, the rest blistered. I'm going to have to carry more of it in my first aid kit from now on!by Hitech - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Is it actually illegal to resell yosemite camping spots or just against yosemite policy/rules?by Hitech - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Dave, as you have an inside view do you think my two suggestions would solve enough of the problem? If you can comment, what is stopping that from happening? Your personal opinion is fine, doesn't have to be hard facts. Thanks.by Hitech - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Simply including one of the "Type these characters" type fields and not immediately putting the canceled site back into inventory would eliminate enough of the problem that it wouldn't be a problem. Obviously those in charge don't want to fix the problem. They can say all they want but actions speak louder than words...by Hitech - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
First thing to consider, is your trailer setup for winter? Do you know what it takes to "dry camp" in the winter. I don't know what Yosemite is like, but without electricity it is more challenging to keep everything from freezing.by Hitech - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Kinda off topic, but how do you pronounce Glen Aulin? I am assuming it is not pronounced Alan. 'by Hitech - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

6The whole pay to not wait your turn is a real issue for me. It creates an even more elitist society when we should be creating less of one. To do this with the publics "property" should be criminal.by Hitech - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Thanks for the pictures, esp. the GIF. I used them for a little fun science lesson. Kids always think its cooler when the pictures are real.by Hitech - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Quotecarl_spackler I took a picture of the shadow made by a tree during peak occlusion (in bay area). You can see the crescent shape of the eclipse duplicated many times in the shadow. The gaps in the canopy of the tree must have been acting like many pinhole cameras. I have a similar picture, also in the Bay Area. One of the cooler phenomenons.by Hitech - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Quoteeeek QuoteHitechNah, an H1 would move that thing. Only if it had any fuel left. When driven properly they get better fuel mileage than rumored. And its easy to carry extra.by Hitech - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
Quotechick-on Quotehotrod4x5 No one carries a tow strap? Huh? Seriously, take another look at that tree. Unless you're driving a tank you aint moving it. It needs to be cut. Nah, an H1 would move that thing.by Hitech - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

I didn't realize you could see the other photobucket pictures. Bit I guess since they are public... That floor is much better than the carpet it replaced. Carpet when camping is just nuts. I thought the window was the perfect responce!by Hitech - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion

I am ALMOST positive that I can carry Giardia and not have any symptoms. When I was a kid I drank water with it in it all the time until my grandfather had it tested. No symptoms. I also drink from a stream in the Sierras that I believe to be Giardia free. I filter anyway. I will give it a try. We are leaving Wed afternoon for a camping trip with the family but I will try, especially since this is the first chance I have to give back. My first backpacking trip into Yosemite wouldn't have happened without some solid advice from here. Besides, the camera on my phone should be good enough for this, and I don't need to edit it...by Hitech - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
I use the sawyer inline filter, but I use it as a gravity filter, not inline with a hydration pack. I can filter a liter of water in 1 minute, faster than a pump. I've never had good luck with the steripen, but it wasn't an opti. I also want to filter out "floaties" so... I filtered 20 gallons of silty water without the sawyer even slowing. It works well for me.by Hitech - Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. News & Discussion
