Re: Half Dome Cables 2006?

I'm assuming with the heavy snowfall this winter that the cables may not go up as early as they usually do. Has anyone heard of an estimated dates for the cable reinstallation this year? A few years ago it was sometime in June before they went back up and I'm wondering if it will be that way this year.

They plan to do an evaluation this week. We should get an estimate soon.

They've now said it is unlikely that the cables will be up for Memorial Day weekend.

They are now working on getting the cables up and have some hope they'll be up this weekend.

The Half Dome Cables are up.

Great, thanks for the info. I'm not crazy enough to go Memorial weekend, but next week I may have to give it a shot.

The news isn't real clear but it sounds like they had a slide in another section. It could be quite a while before Caltrans gets it stablized.
