But let us all remember -- correlation DOES NOT equal cause-and-effect. You could also argue that carbon dioxide level increases have a linear correlation with small earthquakes in North Texas over the past 20 years (true). But few would argue that the CO2 caused the earthquakes... Be careful of interpreting data to prove your own agenda. Next thing you know we will have people advocating a Global Quaking plan to drill oil from the earth and re-inject it along the tectonic plates to lubricate them and prevent earthquakes. The idea that one could prevent earthquakes is equally preposterous with changing the climate. Not that I have a problem with being a good steward of your natural resources and the enviroment, but I just think people have taken this whole thing too far and politicians are now jumping on board to create a new tax that will further oppress our struggling country. Priorities...

Events may be correlated by coincidence or by causation.

Correlation does not necessarily imply causation; however, causation does imply correlation.

( If A causes B, then some connection can eventually be found between condition A and result B. Stated differently, if B is a result of one or more events known as A, eventually those events can be linked to B ). If CO2 causes climate change, it will correlate with changes in climate.
