Is the Tuolumne Meadows "lodge" a High Sierra Camp?
Cast your vote now please.

Note that the "lodge" is a series of tent cabins that look strikingly similar to the other 5 High Sierra Camps.
Just because the "lodge" is in the frontcountry shouldn't have a bearing.

The ranger at the TM Wilderness Center has stated it is a HSC.

So... please chime in.

When you are in country (front or back version) you can be at a HSC.
As it is a camp (has canvas tents with the same steel bedframes), is in the Sierra, and is at a higher elevation than Curry Village, Tuolumne must be a HSC.

You have to remember that it was the backcountry when the TM site was first established (in fact, it was one of the original HSCs):

Mike,

You can take solace, however, in knowing that Table Lake has the highest density of mosquitos ever recorded on the planet (ref.: unpublished Iranian spy satellite data).

Yes, I agree with FF that Tuolumne Lodge must be a Hiiiiigh...SierraCAMP!!!! and so do the rangers! When asked if Tuolumne is included in the Hiiiiiiiigh...SierraCAMPS!!! The rangers answered yes as if it was a known commodity.

To make matters worse, Len's post (http://www.yosemitepark.com/Accommodations_HighSierraCamps_History.aspx) strongly suggests that White Wolf is a HSC. n=7

Anybody remember when the current road got to White Wolf?

That road is part of the original wagon road that went to the Tioga Mining District:
http://www.yosemite.ca.us/library/tioga_road/map.html

[Yeah, Frank, I noticed that "designation" also. However, it is too far from the other HSCs (easy one-day walking distance for the moderately infirm, without backpack) to really qualify. You will note that the TM site fits in nicely between Glen Aulin and Vogelsang as far as the hiking criterion.]

Yeah............................

I'm sort of "undecided" on this one, and that's ok. It's not like the people who were "undecided" on Obama vs. McCain...how can you be undecided on that choice? (Not that I'm endorsing either one!) In any case, I'll submit my punchcard ballot with a "swinging door chad" for YES on HSC, but depending on who reads my ballot, it may have to be thrown out.

Or it could be a vote for Al Gore.

Like cthenn I'm undecided. I guess I really don't give a hoot. Sorry, Dale.

HSC's are great for some folks but I do not care for the impact created by the horse and/or mule trains that serve them, especially since they seem to be exempt from trailhead quotas. The fact that money talks on the back country trails makes me frosty.

Ppppp....rotest! Did you guys not get the PM's?
ah... I mean... ballot measures in the mail..??

The question was simply "Is TM HSC a HSC?"

But thank you for your consideration. We are counting an additional 2 yes votes.
Right now MR.Condron is sitting in the TM "Lodge"/Tent Cabin alone.

Sweet Victory

The people that do it... for many it is their first time in the non-forecountry... and anyone that I have talked
to meeting along the way thinks it's THE cat's meow. (which is why I only say they suck cause of all
of the horse dingles and mule ripping the crapola outta the trail)
One time I told someone along the way that I hated Rafferty trail and explained... and they just loved it...
thought it was the greatest... so sometimes innocence may be better... and I try not to rain on their experience at all...

We had to leave her behind. She had 2 larrys of water and had drunk

While glissading down the snow on her keester the water bottles
