Those are just really old ones.

Beside, they are already yellow on the outside. Ton of chemicals keep them that way in perpetuity.

You prefer yellow?

The Shrek ones were good. But like Coca-Cola, Classic recipe is preferred.
I'll have to look if I have a picture of the Shrek ones in the wilderness.

Actually, Yes!

It was even featured on the Today Show last year (2010) in honor of the 80th Anniversary of the Twinkie®.

NBC Today Show: Make your own Twinkies at home

And here's more detailed video instructions on how on how to make your own Twinkies:

And for those who care to know -- yes, there's a recipe for homemade Cheetos® too.

If he faithfully reproduced the original product, then someone following his directions, and leaving the result in their closet for 15 years, will find a rancid rock-hard substance which nonetheless shows no outward signs of rot (proof I watched the video!).

So...

(I had thought of asking whether Twinkies(tm) are an industrial by-product along the lines of Vegemite(tm), which I've been assured by a native Australian is "mothers' milk" scraped from the bottom of a brewery vat. Assuming Fosters is bottom-fermenting.)

This thread brings to mind Bruce Willis biting into a thousand year old twinkie.

A friend made red velvet "twinkies" and ever since I've heard of the concept, I'm obsessed.

The standard ones are toxic enough.

It appears that bill-e-g has consumed so many of them that he has permanently gone over to the

Since following the links in this thread I now have Amazon.com emailing me about their Hostess Twinkies prices. Yuck. Need to clean up my 'recent viewing' history.

You have been infected with The Curse of the Pink Chikin.

P.S. Perhaps you should check to see if Amazon has any Chikin Voodoo Dolls.

Wouldn't it be easier to just turn off the Amazon suggestions emails?

They have too many 'options' to locate...

Thanks, that will help. The problem will still arise because, when I actually do want to buy something, they'll remind me of my deep and abiding interest in inedible packaged products (followed from links here), Sarah Palin's Whining (followed from recommending Jesus' General Reviews), and other rubbish. But one issue at a time, I guess.
