The weather service says there is another big storm due to arrive late Thursday.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of snow showers after 9am. Increasing clouds, with a high near 39. Calm wind becoming southwest between 6 and 9 mph.

Thursday Night: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 22. South southeast wind between 3 and 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Friday: Snow. High near 34. Southwest wind between 11 and 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. East southeast wind between 3 and 5 mph.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 37.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39.

Sunday Night: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 30.

Monday: Rain likely. Snow level 4900 feet. Cloudy, with a high near 36.

Monday Night: A chance of snow. Cloudy, with a low around 30.

Tuesday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41.

Well this kind of puts a crimp into my plans to hike out to obelisk lake. Guess I better take everyones advice and take it slow. Bridalveil Campgrounds sounds like a good winter camp, and that only after the storm passes, if it ever does. Bridalveil looks like a pay-for campground. Any advice on snowshoes, since it looks like they'll be needed.

Can't complain though. looks like I'll be snowboarding at kirkwood on new years. Also, anyone familiar with this Echo to Kirkwood trail. Sounds like it would be fun, and it's a little closer to SF than yosemite.

Thanks for the advice everyone. As usual there's so much info that can't be gotten from a book, map or even a ranger. Can only be gotten from people whose only reason for being out there is the joy of being out there.
